fully funded and ready to go!

I just received great news! I am now 100% fundraised for my first two years in the Dominican! I have booked plane tickets and am set to fly on November 2nd to Guatemala for language school. In the meantime, I have traveled to North Carolina for training, Colorado for my roommate’s wedding, Massachusetts to visit with a friend, Washington DC for my sister’s wedding, New Jersey to visit my parents and now I am floating around New Hampshire packing up the things from my house and preparing for life overseas. It has been quite the adventure!

I left Wheaton 2 months ago, but am no closer to being settled than the day I left. Reasons I know I’m living a nomadic life style:

1.      I get excited when I learn I’ll be sleeping in the same bed two nights in a row.
2.      My suitcase never seems to unpack.
3.      Finding a shirt that was not in my suitcase is like Christmas as I am able to mix up my 4 rotating outfits.
4.      I have borrowed so many different shampoos I frequently wonder what my hair smells like.
5.      Things I used to cling to are now extra burdens to carry and have thus been given away.
6.      I freely accept any and all dinner invitations!

On a bright note, the foliage here has been the best I've seen in years! The whole neighborhood is orange. I haven't taken many pictures except for this one on the airplane back east and the next one in my town.
